A 2 year old boy with a palpable right renal mass came to see me for further treatment. He had had a MRI scan done in Indonesia that revealed a hydronephrotic left kidney of a Horseshoe Kidney
A DMSA scan showed a non functioning left kidney of a Horseshoe kidney.
The child underwent a Laparoscopic Left Nephrectomy and recovered with no untoward sequelae.
The forceps is in the isthmus of the resected kidney where the left kidney was connected to the right counterpart. This laparoscopic resection was following adequate decompression of the huge hydronephrotic kidney intra operatively.
